When at the height of the war with the Scourge, a secretive order, Seekers of Retribution, was created under the leadership of Master Gandling and Bannok Grimaxe. Their purpose was to gather the knowledge and wisdom to harness the powers of their enemies against them.
Honourable fighters and sages of all the races were recruited to ensure that every possible aspect would be researched.
The Brothers and Sisters were sent on quests to retrieve powerful artefacts, which had remained in the world after the First war with the Burning Legion.
Relentlessly, their best sages studied the forgotten and forbidden tomes in all the libraries all over of the realm to unlock the secrets of the Scourge’s powers.
Little did they suspect that their order was being betrayed from within…
The leaders, Gandling and Grimaxe, had become corrupted by the foul entities they studied and battled. Soon, they were spreading their corrupt teachings amongst their followers.
When this was discovered by Zeddicus and Zianna, they gathered what remained of those loyal and fought a desperate battle to save their honour. Although they fought valiantly, they were no match for the powers of their former Masters and misguided brothers and sisters. In the end, all that remained was a handful of survivors, who managed to escape their former stronghold… Scholomance.
The shattered remnants of the true Seekers of Retribution was renamed “the Fallen Ones” and, bonded by the atrocities they have faced in the final battle with their own kin, they are presently seeking to regain their former glory and honour under the leadership of Lord Zeddicus and Lady Zianna.
