A lock hasn't much to do at Razor, "only" getting a dragon and kite it. This, of course, is hard enough at first, till you get a hang of it and know how things work in the encounter.
With the tactics shift from "total kiting" to "kiting dragons, kill the rest" I feel I don't really help the raid (besides kiting that dragon) and that the DPS groups have a much more difficult and interesting job.
After having kited sooooo many times, I am able to do it blindfolded and as Sama asked for a bit of damage in my corner I tried it and kited my dragon as well as do some damage. That really works :-D
The first dumb thing to notice is that I always ran after my dragon, essentially that took me through the complete hall... Nowadays I just make sure the dragon gets pissed enough by DPSing it under 90% and stay were I like to. So essentially I just have the "problem" to get my dragon back after targeting corner mobs and DPSing them.
Using "g" is one option, but I think at last for me a general multipurpose targeting mod is better suited :-D
So here is a short list of do's and don't's for warlock kiters (edit: stole those nice dots from Slys list ):
But now back to our discussion Sly:
Down to personal preference I guess. Some people dont like mods, so for them using "g" (select last target) is the only option.
If it didn't do what you want Nightspawn it's most likely because it tends to mess up if you are targeting something when it dies. Usually because that means the current target = nothing, the last target = dead, so it all goes wrong!
As far as void walker sac vs void walker ready to be used as a shield goes, I rarely take damage from my dragon as it spends most of it's life feared or running to try and get to me. It's usually sudden burst damage from stray mages etc that kills me, which is why I dont bother with health regen in that phase of the fight. I'm either taking no damage, or big damage suddenly. It's personal preference of course!
I dont rely on debuff counters at all as mobs sometimes break out early. I just use em as a guide
Nighty - if you want to get into more discussion about locks in razorgore I suggest we take it into the lock forum as I think we're highjacking this thread a bit
My fear normally doesn't break early, so the counter does it's job and of course you need to have an eye on your back
To the regen buff: As I was running after my dragon a lot, I got hit by aoe often or cleaves, or whatever, so regen was nice as I don't assume anyone to heal me. Now that I dps and stand by my corner, I really want to life tap to get mana back and have no time to bandage, so it keeps me going
Having a loose pet around would only make me nervous.
And as said I don't even need to use DC often so a sacc shield is really overkill

- DO cos on your target, really do
- DON'T use something else to tag it, as you loose the lower resists and use something that either has chances to break fear or does not keep up 5 min.
- DON'T use dots like corruption, as they make fear breaking uncontrollable
- DO dps your mob a bit, whether you use shadowbolt or searing pain is personal preference, both tend to break your fear quite often so be ready to refear.
- DO spec into 5/5 corruption, haha, only kidding :-D but it helps
- DON'T run after your dragon, will you will only get to places you don't like to get to, better make sure it's pissed and runs back to you. You will get hit by mage aoe too often if you run around
- DO spec into grim reach kidding again, but it also helps to get that fear of sooner, when the mob runs back
- DO tag your mob with cos ASAP, really it should be your first action. It most of the time does not aggro the mob and is part of our tactics that each mob is always tagged.
- DON'T tag or fear any tagged mob (besides your own... doh), never ever, it's not needed and screws our tactics
- DO use death coil when you get a resist of fear and directly cast fear again. DC is your emergency spell in that situation.
- DON'T panic when you get two resists, you will have time for a third and that won't get a resist, if you are not called Nuurg
