Afaik, the idea behind wanding is to get to Geddon's hatelist, so he could target you with the bomb.
I did some testing about this ("testing".... I was so wasted that I forgot to do it in the first time) and here's the results out from 4 times. Since I am a priest, there's no way I can get to his hatelist by healing or damage dealing. I do eventually get to his hatelist by healing (Since I always shield and renew myself when I got to be the bomb) but the first "bomb targeting" will come out from a clean hatelist table.
1st time: No wanding, got to be the bomb 3 times in a row. 2nd time: No wanding, got to be the bomb 3 separate times. 3rd time: One wand shot, no bombs 4th time: No wanding, got to be the bomb 2 times.
We can pretty much stuff the idea of needing to wand Geddon, for him to be able to target you for the bomb.
On a sidenote, I've seen combat buffing generate threat. I have a feeling, that dispelling/decursing creates some amount of threat aswell. (Pulled aggro off from a tank once, just by dispelling his debuff at the sart of the combat. Haven't been able to look into this thing further tho.)

Yes, dispelling creates aggro. No question about it. Do the front dispelling job on Lava Packs and you have no doubt. It truly does. The same goes for decursing.

Can also confirm this, you can get a mob on you just by dispelling (if say there's two and tank never hit one). When I just stood back by the wall and did nothing I never got the bomb from Geddon, so he just takes people from his hatelist. But don't think healers need to wand him, since they will be put on the list with healing/dispelling/etc anyway.
Afaik we are doing this to get a random bomb target, not make MT and MT healers inevitably the first bombs.

Afaik we are doing this to get a random bomb target, not make MT and MT healers inevitably the first bombs. This makes very much sense. I always thought, that the wanding was primarily to get the dispelling priests hit by the bomb aswell during the fight. Must be working, since at least I haven't been hit by the boob during the merge, when there's no actual DPS done to the big guy. Thanks for clearing this, Krktie.
