Ahh, I see you've avoided imp sunder. Tough one that, theoretically we should just be able to devastate once 5 sunders are up, and I think it's safe to assume that a devastate will generate more threat than re-applying a sunder, so the value of imp sunder is just the speed of getting those first 5 sunders up on a mob, then it becomes largely worthless.
Argh, so undecided!!!

Only going to take imp sunder (now that I don't have to spam it anymore) if rage is a huge issue. Was just wondering something. Does Defiance actually apply for sunder armor? I mean, it's not an attack, right? Or is it.. forgot tooltip now. If it doesn't apply to sunder but does apply to Devastate, that'd be neat. forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=78137860&sid=1That was sorta interesting. (Yay game mechanics! ugh..)

The rage generation when taking damage remains the same in tBC, the big difference is the normalize rage when doing damage, so the problem is with offtanks that are trying to build argo and not with the main tank.

About Devastate though: Even if it generates less threat than a sunder at the moment, I still think it might be a good talent.
- It does damage too, so boss dies faster - It can crit - It's based on weapon damage, so will scale with uber tBC 1H weapons - Can be used by an offtank to renew sunders, while MT can concentrate on stuff like Shield Slam and Revenge, which have much bigger threat than Sunder - Soloing stuff, it's an instant attack and rage dump for prot warriors (who lack MS or Bloodthirst)
