Nothing wrong with those builds, but since you said you're going for leveling pve builds (asked in game for anyone else reading this) I'd go for one of two things: Either an affliction/demonolgy based build: www.wowhead.com/talent/?NV0iAMboVZMxhzpLoThe idea being you let your voidy get a bit of aggro and then dot and drain life with the odd shadow bolt thrown in. This build can have zero down time basically so is good for extended times. Alternatively you could go all the way up to soul-link first to give you loads of pet utility: www.wowhead.com/talent/?AV0bZcxGuMxotZix0zOr something along that theme. Or you could go heavy affliction but work towards an end-game SM/ruin build at the same time: www.wowhead.com/talent/?AV0iAMboVZZyx0t00zGet all the affliction stuff first - personally I think affliction is the best leveling tree in general. On the destruction side you could not get shadow burn for that extra point in imp shadow bolt, but it's up to you exactly how you do it. The important things are shadow mastery and ruin. Feel free to poke me in game if you've got questions - some of this is a matter of personal taste anyway but going affliction and drain tanking is the best way to avoid downtime and death when leveling up. The main thing I WOULDN'T do is go full destruction - you burn out very quickly and so it's not so good for leveling. You'll be sitting around drinking half of the time Slyvar Imagine there are funky pictures and witty words here please.

Allow me some comments on your two choices First the general comments to the points spend in affliction: I strongly advise to swap the 3 points in improved drain life to suppression. Especially for leveling those points will enable you to engage mobs higher than your level without too much level based resists. Against mobs of your level you will save loads of mana and spare yourself some frustrating situations where you get chains of resists :-D First the destruction part: Two points in Cataclysm will not accomplish anything, but two points in intensity will enable you to aoe at all Two points in improved leash of pain will double the leash damage of your succ. I would swap those for any of those two talents. The demon part: The two points in fel intellect dont do much, like those in cataclysm. Putting them in improved healthstone will make it better, really . The one point in fel domination is weak, not doing anything without master summoner... I would consider swapping the three point (in fel domination and fel intellect) to get siphon life and amplify curse (write a macro to use it whenever possible with CoA) or get full suppression (its just sooo good a talent). A revised build would be: www.wowhead.com/talent/?IE0bVMboZcxZxx0tr0zI am not sure about the intellect and stamina talents... those pet talents are just too good. Void gets more aggro and the shield gets buffed 30%, the imp gives so much more stamina, damage, etc. the succ can seduce longer, gets more damage, etc. So I would swap the points to the demons. You can then also take the improved healthstone. Together with the general remarks I would adjust the build to: www.wowhead.com/talent/?IA0bVRbZfxhuMxot

Ok, here they come Again, I would recommend to take suppression, instead of improved drain life. This talent is good in end game, but exceptionally good when leveling, as you will have mobs above your level more frequently. Ever wanted to kill those three elementals 3-4 levels higher than you to get that quest done? Resist, resist, resist, resist, resist, resist... gah... have to bring some friends Suppression totally cancels out the negative effect of level on +2, and greatly reduces it for +3 and +4. You might also want to consider shifting only 3 of the 4 points to suppression and take amplified curse (make a macro to apply it whenever ready with curse of agony). Everything else is fine. I guess you are leaving MD and unholy power then? Modified build, with 11 points unspend (for lvl 49), ignore the points in destruction, they are just to make the rest more visible: www.wowhead.com/talent/?AA0bVRboZfxhuMZVV0zI did not select demonic sacrifice, as you need lvl 51 for it. If you want it sooner, instead of siphon life consider this one: www.wowhead.com/talent/?NA0bVMbZfthuM0oZVV0zTo the affliction side: Why take 5/5 improved drain life, but not the 70% interrupt resist? I would strongly recommend 5/5 in fel concentration if you plan to drain at all. Nightfall is no good without drain life, if you are not doing mass pvp Take the points from imp. CoA and 2 from imp. drain life. You might then consider taking the rest 3/5 points in imp. drain life to something more ... fun, like amplify curse and imp. drain mana depends on preferences of course. The destruction side: imp Leash of Pain is a good talent, no doubt. But without imp. Succubus and unholy power... I don't know. Intensity is an awesome talent; you will want to do AoE in instances like Strat, UBRS, Scholo, ZG, etc. I would suggest swapping those two points to intensity. The revised build: www.wowhead.com/talent/?IE0fVMboVZZxx0tr0z

Hehe, didn't notice until now, but there are three demons that get upgrades, Imp, Succy and VW, but nowhere do I spot an upgrade for the Felhunter !
Now I have mine since yesterday, so it isn't that great yet, but neither was Succy at the first couple of levels. I do hope Felhunter might replace my Succy as fav pet, since it just looks too cool to see a walking corpse with a albino rat (Whiskers) and a demon dog running after you in Battlegrounds xD

Hi, I dunno if this build is of any intrest but but when I was levelling my lock to 49 to 60 this was the talent build I used. It's good for fast solo grinding, average in group play and pretty lousy in PvP (although you can siphon life everything in sight and chuckle as you life tap away) www.wowhead.com/?talent=NV0iV0bZfgVzM0o at lvl 49 www.wowhead.com/?talent=IAMiV0boVZfgVzM0o and this at 60 I also took engineering for the Goblin jumper cables XL. The trick is to summon your void walker, sacrifice it immediately, use the jumper cable to shock your now dead void walker back to life (although if it fails it fails no loss) for that extra cheeky feeling of knowing engineering is truly an imbalanced craft then pretty much pull mobs with your corruption spell, then just drain life, life tap when needed, instant shadow bolt nuke when nightfall activates, and you can non stop grind on mobs of around your level reasonably fast with no downtime what so ever. -Kindy

Well that's obviously a soul link build (doh!) and if you plan on always using the felhunter as pet, this build looks really good. Except for one small detail: you might want to shift the 2% crit with spells to 4% hit with spells. I know the crit applies only to destruction and the hit only to affliction, but I guess as SL lock you will DOT pretty much and the 4% is all you need to rule out the natural resist of your opponent by level: www.wowhead.com/?talent=Ii0bZbxmzgxotZxx0zIf you want to be open for any pet for different pvp encounters, you might want to shift talents in demonology though (if not you chose wisely all talents available for felhunter). If you use voidwalker (against melee for example), well... your build looks very good too actually, as the VW talent would only help you with the sacc shield and you might profit more from the health gain. If you use Succubus with seduce, you might want her talent, for longer seduce and harder leash hits. Ah well, but I am talking too much already The "classic" demonology point distribution, which will be much better then yours for _pve_ (5 man, 10 man, 20 man) is of course: www.wowhead.com/?talent=Ni0bZfxhuMxotZxx0zBut as you asked for PVP you have to answer the question what pets you want to use most often and how to improve them, then you can shift points between special pet talents and the generic ones. If the answer is also/mostly felhunter, your build rocks. Thanks for listening :-D

Hi your build looks okay, Although as Night spawn said it very much depends on your PvP play style/pet, equipment and the battle ground your planning on using (or if your going world pvp). I noticed you put 7 points in affliction, which can be okay. But you might be better of just putting them all into destruction increasing your crit chance to 5% and increasing your destruction range by 20%, and the last two points into Spellstone or cataclysm. I'd guess with the build you have felhunters, Shadow bolts and instant nukes are the order of the day ^_^. Dot's like affliction aren't to useful in PvP in my opinion, aside from allowing a chance to break most crowd control abilities (sap, seduction, fear, frost trap etc.) most alliance classes can remove it and I've never really been convinced it's useful in the short fight scenarios that are most battlegrounds, and definatley suck when your trying to crowd control to ninja a flag. Edit: I meant spellstone not soulstone

For dots I think it depends on your play style and battle ground personally.
In AV I would often dot and then fear 3 people - by the time they come out of fear they are often in one shadowburn range. Dots can also be useful to stop thieves stealthing again. And of course if 2 people attack you, you can fear them both, drop dots on one and then shadow bolt the other to death.
Like I say it depends on playstyle though. I like anything instant cast as you can get them off even when under attack.

hehe yeah playstyle and what you find fun is definatley the main factor ^_^ ... But then I guess it dosen't matter what you choose; with a warlock, All locks are imba and should be nurfed ... NURFED I TELL YOU NURFED ^_~
