After the overpowered VT, Blizzard developers decided to overpower Mind Flay for tBC just for the looks. Bye bye 45% damage coefficient, Hello 81% damage coefficient! forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=66026671&pageNo=1Now lets hope that they don't nerf it back before or after tBC launches. Oh btw, I feel sorry for you PvPrs.

Its so silly... mages are known for having trouble with casters, and easy on meelee. So fair enough, they buff up meelee... and also gives us a GREAT kiting skill more o.0 And wait... then they nerf Counter Spell -_- and buff priests >.< But uh... grats?

They let us taste the sweet nectar of properly scaling mindflay. But like the banishment from the Eden, priests couldn't taste their forbidden fruit and stay in the paradise. Without asking a thing, the God Blizzard punished us by denying our redemption, "The World of Priestcraft", and cruelly tore our very heart out from our divine chests. Those same chests that has endured so much pain through numerous nerfs and inconsistents through their struggle through the world.
Bye properly scaling Mind Flay with 81% coefficiency. Welcome arbitrarily nerfed Mind Flay with 57% coefficient.
Granted, 81% MF scaling meant that we had groups consisting of 3 shadowpriests that never ran oom and did unsurpassed damage in the BC beta. In that retrorespect, that nerf wasn't unsuspected.

Very poetic Sama. Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer and Marge play Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden - after they are cast out Homer says "I'm sure God will let us return soon. I mean, how long can he hold a grudge?" - cut to Reverend Lovejoy reading from his sermon saying "Forever and ever....and ever"

Incidentally, I was thinking about that same Simpsons episode when I wrote the preface.

"Shadowpriests, my brethren. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when our DPS fails... when we forsake our +damage and break all trust on Blizzard's ability to give us a properly scaling Mind Flay. But it is not this day. An hour may come of crappy Mind Flay scaling and shattered shadowpriest hearts in the DPS meters when the castle of our high damage comes crashing down. But it is not this day. This day we make awesome DPS! By all the DPS we hold dear on this good game, I bid you to DPS the daggers out of the rogues hands, to DPS the pinkish robes out of mages' ears and blow the DPS meters to the sky, Shadowpriests of WoW!" Bye arbitralrily nerfed 57%(45%/64%) coefficiency on Mind Flay Welcome back proper 81% coefficiency on Mind flay! Seems like another beta build on tBC put back the proper coefficiency percent to the same point where it should have been the past 2 years. Already I see other classes (and other priests ) whine off their behinds in the forums, but it's actually fun to watch where they will end with the scaling percent in the end. Edit: Using max rank spells for (Adding together DPS from SW:P, VT and MF. I'm delibiteraly leaving out MB and SW:D from the equation for not to make mages even sadder) lvl60 with high end +damage (+728) 45% MF scaling: 680 DPS 57% MF scaling: 722 DPS 64% MF scaling: 747 DPS 81% MF scaling: 824 DPS As you can see, nerfing just by a few % one of our 3 sustained DPS spells, you nerf a large part of our total DPS. The percents are the percents that we have seen so far in tBC as MF coefficiency number.

Hihi Gruntle, then I don't have to say that with 750 damage a shadowpriest gets ~1500 DPS for about 15 second max nukes, when using SW:P, VT and the new Shadow word: death spell. The bad thing is, that the priest in the question now needs some love from the real healers, since SW:D gives a nasty damage to the caster unless the target dies. But I heard they buffed druid healing, something about trees....?

SW:D is healed by imp. vampiric embrace even if spammed unless you get repeated crits, you will need innervates to keep a proper dps cycle going for a longer time though (but as we are an innervate for our whole group innervating us in TBC makes sense). and mind flay is back at 57% in beta.
