It's pretty simple Just copy/paste this macro to your WoW macros, and smash the button to the world's end. Quaranteed increase in DPS. /script UIErrorsFrame:Hide() /castsequence reset= N.N Steady Shot, Auto Shot, Steady Shot, Auto Shot, Steady Shot, Auto Shot, Steady Shot, Auto Shot, Steady Shot, Auto Shot /cast Kill Command /script UIErrorsFrame:Clear(); UIErrorsFrame:Show() N.N is your 'hasted ranged weapon speed'*5+0.2 (shown in your character sheet. Don't confuse it with your weaponspeed, which is incorrect.) For example Sumy has 2.7 weapon speed, 15% quiver and Seprent's swiftness, thus her hasted weapon speed is 2.03. 2.03*5+0.2 is 10.23. The correct amount for N.N is then 10.23. What the macro does then? As a hunter, you know that missing shot rotations buggers your DPS by _alot_. The macro keeps your rotations timed perfectly, thus increasing DPS by not pushing back autoattacks with incorrectly timed steady shots. Steady shot + auto shot rotation is your bread and butter raid DPS rotation (and if you think the rotation is something else, stop playing hunters. Right now.) Use the macro and see how your DPS skyrockets during raid boss fights

Having a macro to do competent DPS as a hunter is dictated by Blizz's stupid decision to make hunter DPS dependant on shot rotation timings. Sumy has a 0.3 second window every 2.03 seconds to press steady shot button if she wants to keep her DPS up. I'm getting old and the reflexes aren't what they used to be. Having being drinking half of my braincells out, the macro just lets me to keep up with the younger "millisecond reflex" crowd. edit: At the same time, the macro lets other hunters slack a bit more when they do DPS in raids and still do competetive DPS.

Meh, have to admit, kinda sad to see this come into play. All you need now, is a program/setup that will just press that one button for you all the time. I'm sure a program could be set up, to "push" the button 10 times a second... then thats all you need. Personal oppinion of course, but where is the "playing" in any of this? I mean, WoW was pretty basic before, and now its just mashing one button? :S

For hunters, there's simply few different possibilities. Either you do crap damage and hinder the raid progression, quit the game or adapt. It's up to you which one you choose.
You can pretty much directly compare pushing that macro to a MC run, where you push fireball button to the world's end.
The difference between pushing that macro, or doing everything manually is: Watch a tiny bar move and push a button on a 0.2 sec timeframe every 2 seconds (or 0.18secs every 1.8 secs when a proc happens) while watching if you crit or not to be able to push Kill command button. If you can't do this for 10 minutes straight for 200 times, you're going to do crap damage. Talk about burnt out hunters en masse.
Or then again, you can just smash the button.

Situational awareness is what makes the difference between a good player doing high damage on raids from a pre-BC raider that dreams about Golemagg type fights where you stand 10 minutes in the same place while smashing fireball button.

*predicts sleeping drunk hunters getting aggro because they are bored* i can see the point with the macro, but i agree 100% with tardon. Sounds extremly boring.

If pressing that macro sounds boring, then you also are saying that every mage, shadowpriest, lock and whatnot class is boring, since all that macro button is, is exactly what you do when you guys spam your shadowbolt, mind flay, frostbolt/AB/AM/firebolt and whatnot spells. You are basically condemning your own class as boring Hunters still have to keep their eyes on the pet and the stings they keep up. Pet handling, at least on raids, is a couple of times harder than keeping your eyes on DoTimer bars.

I dunno about you Sama, but personally I use more than one button on raid DPS :S (usually scorch, fireblast, fireball, combustion (and trinket, if it "counts")).
I just find it sad that raiding has become so min/max that macro's such as this is "the way forward". I also find it ironic that people will complain about how boring DPS classes are to play in raids, and then use macro's as this :S
But again, just a personal oppinion.

I dunno about you Sama, but personally I use more than one button on raid DPS :S I, as a hunter, use arcane shot, scorpid sting, serpent sting, control pet (that's 3 buttons which I *gasp* mouse click!), hunter's mark, multi shot, mend pet and that macro when I raid. What's your point?
