OK.. Hunters.. Need input on your experience:
Last night, well more like this morning, while I couldnt sleep I decided to respec to mainly survival. While this gets rid of 3 of my hunter skills (Silence, scatter, Aimed), I do end up with alot more CC skills, trap efficiency, etc aimed at surviving even at close range.
While I can see this being somewhat useful diring instancing and raiding, I am unsure how it will affect my dps when needed. Under MM, I was 1700AP with 22/23% crit. Having changed, I am now 1400AP and 27/28% crit, with no aimed shot.
Has anyone travelled down this path since the talents came out? If so, what are your finding?

How very interesting! That was short lived..
The Survival spec I had was really quite good in PVE, having the ability to do some very effective crowd control. Example being in Mechanar, our tank and rogue died in the first of the waves of attacks from the last boss event. (you get 3 waves and then a break). The priest, a Mage and I were able to CC and Kite the mobs taking them all down where we then could res the others. The traps and trapping abilities rocked, and Readiness (ability to get rid of all cooldowns) was very good for emegencies. Expose weakness procced very often (which gives added AP to everyone against that target for 6 seconds, to the value of 25% of my agility). For raiding, it was good.
And then.. I went to pvp...
Well..There is a definite advantage to surviving as i was able to CC, get away, slow them etc... I just didnt have the bigger crits I am used to. I think someone who spends the time to master survival spec pvping, it woudl be useful, but I was constantly reaching for my scatter shot, and when i had a frozen target I had no aimed shot to take them out quickly..
So I respecced back.. For me personally, I prefer MM for pvp with trail points in survival and beast.
