Since the servers are down, I did little calculations... you can find them here.
It's all about Healing Touch, and it's efficiency with different amount of +healing gear. I hope that those tables are mostly self-explanatory. The upper one is the main one. The data about different ranks of HT are directly from spell book(minimum and maximum effect, average of those two, mana cost). Column that says "+healing efficiency" tells you how much that spell gains from your +healing gear - the numbers are my estimates, but as far as I can tell they are pretty close to reality. Note that HT rank 4 is 3,0 sec cast, while others are 3,5 sec spells without talents.
The numbers underneath "HP/mana" tells you how many hitpoints you heal with one point of mana. In raid healing, you will always want to use your mana as efficiently as possible, since running oom is not fun. As you can see from the numbers, the lower ranks become more and more efficient as you get more +healing. Bigger ranks will usually lead to overhealing anyway, when there are multiple people healing the same target.
The lower table shows you the average heals with different amounts of +healing... it's mostly there so I can test if my numbers are anywhere near reality
The critical point is about +300 healing. With this amount, the lower ranks become more efficient than the higher ones. Gathering +healing beyond that will further increase the efficiency, and I think that it will remain the best stat to focus on, no matter how much you already have.
One thing to keep in mind is that with increasing mana efficiency, your mana recovery becomes much more efficient as well. 9000 mana with +0 healing will heal about as much as 6000 mana with +300 healing when using lower ranked spells, but it takes 50% longer to recover to full mana.
Few nice mods that I find useful:
ItemBonus - shows you how much +healing, and other stats, you get from your gear
HealPoints - shows you a lot of math about your current healing spell efficiency. Extremely useful mod if you like numbers and statistics.
That's it for today, I hope it makes sense
